The main objective of the Environment laboratory is to provide reliable and efficient analysis of various environmental components which include air, water, wastewater, noise, soil, sludge & solid waste etc. The laboratory is duly recognized by Ministry of Environment & Forests (MOEF) and various pollution control boards for carrying out monitoring and analysis of parameters relating to the environment and pollution control. As part of the R&D section of this laboratory, various pilot-plant studies are also undertaken which include effluent treatment studies and hazardous waste management projects.
The laboratory also carries out a large-scale data generation activities which include ambient air quality monitoring, meteorological studies, soil and groundwater studies, and complete data generation for Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audits. The laboratory has associated with the government, public and private sector for carrying out data generation projects.
Also undertaken are complete work zone monitoring studies for industries as per the requirement of statutory bodies like OSHA and requirements of OHSAS. These studies are undertaken to monitor harmful chemical to assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women. AES carries out these monitoring for industries as well as certifying agencies providing relevant certifications.
The laboratory follows USEPA, BIS, WHO and APHA methods as per client requirements. Soil, sludge and solid waste are analyzed using USEPAs Solid Waste Manual (SW-846).
Highly trained staff including environmental chemists, technicians are the key to efficient and reliable operation of the Environmental Laboratory.
